Book Launch for Thomas Aslin’s SALVAGE

Join Thomas Aslin and Michael Daley for the official book launching of Thomas Aslin’s latest collection of poems, SALVAGE (Lost Horse Press, 2016) and Michael Daley’s OF A FEATHER (Empty Bowl Press, 2016) at Seattle’s Elliott Bay Books on Tuesday, 1 November 2016 at 7 pm.

Salvage is Thomas Aslin’s second full-length collection, and like his first, A Moon Over Wings, these poems range from elegy and lament to poems of praise. Almost psalm-like at times, these meditative and lyric poems take a close look at the Palouse and those who worked and lived on the land.

Michael Daley’s Of a Feather passes Thoreau’s moral test. To have written so well of what he has so clearly seen birds, insects, landscapes requires a receptivity to what is before him, everyday, animate or inanimate, large or small. Receptivity grounded in patience and love. Of a Feather has an off-hand, unhurried and leisurely tone that feels Chinese, even Taoist.
