CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL NASTY WOMEN POETS TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY

We are seeking poems from women who proudly celebrate their own nastiness and that of other women who have served as nasty role models. We want poems by and about women defying limitations and lady-like expectations; women refusing to be “nice girls;” women embracing their inner bitch when the situation demands it; women being formidable and funny; women speaking to power and singing for the good of their souls; women being strong, sexy, strident, super-smart and stupendous; women who want to encourage little girls to keep dreaming. If you are a woman who refuses to submit, we want to read your submission.

Full Guidelines:

No more than three poems per submission. Please send two hard copies of each poem.

Please include your name, address, and email on each page of poetry and in a brief cover letter. No need to send an SASE—we will email our responses, requesting electronic copies of poems accepted plus a brief contributor’s note.

Poems may be previously published, but contributors must have the rights to the poems and waive fees for republication. Contributors will receive one free copy of the anthology upon publication.

If the poem is previously published, please include acknowledgements.

Postmark deadline for submissions: Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017

Snail mail submissions only. Emailed submissions will not be read.
