Mountain Voices Workshop

Lost Horse Press is now taking registrations for Mountain Voices: A Lost Horse Press Workshop for Writers, a one-day workshop for writers of all genres taught by Sandpoint writer and poet, Jonathan Johnson.

Mountain Voices will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2007 from 10 am until 5 pm in the Rude Girls Room of the Sandpoint Library (corner of Cedar & Division Streets, Sandpoint) with a no-host dinner, reading and book signing by Jonathan Johnson, and an open mic for students and the public to follow at Common Knowledge Book Store & Tea House (Main Street, Sandpoint). Cost of the workshop is $50, and space is limited to 15 students. Students will submit prose of twelve pages or three poems prior to the workshop. To register or for additional information, please contact Lost Horse Press at 208.255.4410.

Jonathan Johnson is the author of the memoir, Hannah and the Mountain: Notes Toward a Wilderness Fatherhood, the book of poems Mastodon, 80% Complete, and the forthcoming book of poems, In the Land We Imagined Ourselves. His poems have appeared in Best American Poetry and numerous other anthologies, as well as recent issues of Southern Review, Ploughshares, North American Review, and Prairie Schooner. He is the Director of the Inland Northwest Center for Writers, the MFA program at Eastern Washington University.  Johnson spends as much time as he can at the secluded, log cabin he and his wife built on the Johnson Family Farm in northern Idaho.
