Lost Horse Press, the Northwest Fair Trade Network and the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force proudly present the Oak
Street Festival of Fair Trade, Music, Poetry & Food: a market for fair trade
goods from around the world, plus music, poetry, and tasty treats to eat and drink. The Festival takes place on Saturday, 11 August 2007 from 9 am until 5 pm at 4th Avenue and Oak Street (in the alley adjacent to Monarch Mountain Coffee) in Sandpoint, Idaho.
The Oak Street Festival of Fair Trade, Music, Poetry & Food will feature fairly traded goods for purchase—sweaters, textiles, clothing, baskets, tea and coffee, jewelry, leather goods, books, pottery, handmade paper, toys, musical instruments, a diversity of exotic gifts—from Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, Ghana, Thailand, Burma, Nepal, Tibet and Laos. On our main stage, sweet music and poetry will be presented throughout the day by Black Ice, Tennis, Tilden Brown, Heather McElwain, Adrian Murillo and others. Tasty treats and libations will be available from Mamasan’s (outstanding Thai and Asian cuisine), Ice House Pizza (the best American fare: New York style pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs), Cafe Bodega (cool Italian gelato), and Monarch Mountain Coffee (fair trade coffee, organic yerba maté, fruit smoothies).
Please join us for the Oak Street Festival of Fair Trade, Music, Poetry & Food on Saturday, 11 August 2007 for fair trade and fair play! After visiting the Festival, be sure to check out the Sandpoint Farmers Market in Farmin Park, just across the street from the Festival, and the Pend Oreille Arts Council’s Arts & Crafts Fair at City Beach. An entire day of great art, music, poetry, food, shopping, and it’s all FREE!
