Join Lost Horse Press on Sunday, 10 April 2005 for the fourth Sunday Afternoon Salon at the Hi Hopes Café as Emily Baker discusses her philosophy of poetry and performs selected pieces. Ms. Baker is a poet and performance artist; her presentation will include spoken word and music/song, in addition to an experiment using the vocal expression of the audience to create harmony of sound in relation to the harmony of being. Her talk will focus on the concept that we are all creative beings capable of expressing unique qualities of self. She will use music and poetry as a way of illustrating how we can tap into our awareness of intention as well as the appreciation of one’s self and others. Ms. Baker will also discuss respect, inhabiting one’s words fully, the ability to free flow, non-judgment, discipline, and keeping a fresh perspective. A north Idaho native, Emily Baker was born in a little house on Lake Street in Sandpoint, Idaho twenty six years ago. A six-year stint in Portland, Oregon helped to inspire her to begin singing and writing once again as she had as a child. Emily recently returned to Idaho to apprentice with a local homebirth midwife, an endeavor she enjoys very much. Please join Lost Horse Press at the Hi Hopes Café on Sunday, 10 April 2005 for another lively conversation dedicated to Rebel Creativity in the Age of Commerce. Emily Baker’s performance and discussion is the fourth in a series titled Wild Mind: Rebel Creativity in the Age of Commerce presented by Lost Horse Press. Please watch for info about continuing Sunday Afternoon Salons at the Hi Hopes Cafe. For additional information about this or other Lost Horse programs, please call 208.255.4410.
